Giveaway Time!

I am thrilled that Erica Eriksdotter will be in Richmond this weekend showing her amazing art at the Art Affair on Saturday (10am – 5pm) and Sunday (11am – 4pm) at the corner of Cary and Westmoreland Streets.  If you are local, go check out her art in person and say hi to Erica.  I am looking forward to attending!  Check out some of her fabulous work:

{African Purple}

{Petals in a Gray Sky}

{Pink Closed Tulip}

Erica’s art has been featured all over the blogosphere, and has been invited to participate in numerous art shows

Lucky for you, Erica has generously offered a Spark! reader a pack of her beautiful stationery reflecting a sampling of her gorgeous work.

To enter, visit Erica’s website and then leave a comment here telling me your favorite piece of her artwork.  If you mention the giveaway on Facebook or Twitter, leave an additional comment for another entry!

Random Things I am Likely Lately

Happy Fridaaaaaaaaaaaay!  I thought I would share what’s on my radar screen these days:

BEST INVENTION EVER!  Confession: I totally bought this because I saw it on Project Runway.  Ok, but L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara is awesome.  It allows you to put on as much or as little mascara as you want and the little spiky ball thingy lets you comb out any clump that forms without creating even more clumps on other lashes.  In short, an eyelash miracle for $9.

This jacket is from…wait for it…Target!  And it’s $24.99.  I haven’t seen it in person, but have been stalking my local Target’s juniors section to check out this beauty.  (Thanks to Jennifer at Style Your Life for this find!)

Trader Joe’s Maple Leaf Cookies.  I may or may not have had these for breakfast with my coffee this morning.  Delicious and addictive.

In case you missed it, go check out Paula’s kitchen makeover using paint and new hardware over at Two Ellie.  She turned blah brown into GORGEOUS two-hued cabinets.  I love the inexpensive but complete transformation!

I am definitely buying a pair (or two) of trouser jeans this season.  I am so glad that higher waisted jeans are finally hitting the racks!  I tried on and loved the pair above from the Loft (~$55) and they fit great, but I am also considering splurging on these:

Seven For All Mankind, Ginger Cut (as seen on JillGG) and ~$155.  Thoughts?

I love this sweet little pigeon sold by West Elm in collaboration with PATCH NYC.  And it’s only $29 with free shipping.  I think this little buddy would look great hanging on my hallway gallery wall.  He will be mine!

Have a great weekend!

Arts in the Park Giveaway!

Arts in the Park, one of the top art shows in the country, will be held in Richmond this weekend in Byrd Park!

Erica Eriksdotter is one of the very talented artists featured at Arts in the Park this year.

Erica creates exquisite acrylic and watercolor paintings.

Erica has generously offered two sets of stationery depicting five of Erica’s gorgeous works of art to Spark! readers.  These variety packs are created just for Spark! readers — they are beautiful!

To enter the giveaway, please go check out her work at Studio Eriksdotter and leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite painting.  If you tweet, blog or post a link on Facebook about this giveaway, leave another comment and get an additional entry!  We are giving one pack away to two readers, so your odds of winning are excellent!  🙂

To all my local readers, head out to Byrd Park this weekend and check out Erica and Arts in the Park!

Random Things I Am Liking Lately

It’s been a while since my last random likings post, so here’s what’s on my radar these days:

The Lily Mirror from  Ballard Designs would look great above a dresser in a girl’s room (or my room, whatever!):

I am looking for any excuse to purchase one of these amazing Bogart Flat Weave Wool Rugs from Garnet Hill.  Using one of these as a runner in a hallway would be perfect.

Currently coveting this amazing Scallop Trim Coat from Boden for the transition to Spring.

I am head-over-heels in love with these Nest and Egg Prints from Wisteria.  I could design an entire nursery around these babies.

This clean-lined Apex Bookcase from West Elm would fit perfectly against a short wall that would otherwise be wasted space.

These quatrefoil design Firenze Embroidered Panels from Ballard Designs are gorgeous.

Imagine the vignettes you could create on mantels, consoles and bookshelves with these adorable Hear No, See No, Speak No Owls from At West End.

These fresh and feminine desk accessories from PB Teen would look fabulous in both my daughter’s play room and my home office!

Have a fabulous weekend, y’all!

More Photos of My New Flame….

You all know about my recent passion for the bright, amber-hued color sandwiched between red and yellow on the color wheel.  Gorgeous orange has been catching my eye all over the place.  I just added two orange picture frames to my spartan mantle and they really pop!  Check out how this color has been striking my fancy lately….

Buy This, Not That — Beach House Edition

Back by popular demand!!  I got so many positive comments on the last edition of “Buy This, Not That,” that I decided to make it a recurring theme.

beachhouse2

I just finished The Beach House by Jane Green, which was set in a fabulous estate on Nantucket.  It was a yummy summer read and I was inspired to do a beach house edition of “Buy This, Not That.”  As always, most of these pieces would fit in with just about any decorating style – they are not limited to just a beach house.  Enjoy!
