Mini Bedroom Update

I have been working on styling my bedroom to better suit our practical needs while looking somewhat aesthetically palatable.  Example, the before:

{This is real life, people, excuse the dog toy & box with new book shelf inside!}

So, my husband and I need to sleep with a fan on, and because of our sloped ceilings in the bedroom, a ceiling fan would not work.  This fan has been doing the trick since, uh hem, college (at least 12 years ago!). This wall space between the entrance to our bedroom and our bathroom is so small and seems wasted.  My two-part solution:

First:

Second:

I love the warmth that the new bookshelf brings to the previously “wasted space” and sleep even better with the powerful, quiet and retro-looking little Minka Aire fan.  Yay for mini updates!

  1. I love leaning shelves! I have a beautiful dark wood one from C&B that I bought for $129 a couple years ago. Love the update!!

  2. I agree. Mini-makeovers and updates are the best. They can give you such a lift without requiring a big budget or effort. What you have done looks fantastic. Well done!
