If you have ever lived in the South, between Easter and Labor Day, you have seen the dapper men dressed daily in their summer seersucker suits and white bucks.
Women don seersucker too – as it is the choice for a comfortable, breezy, cool, humidity-busting, yet still professional, attire. I love this skirt from Lilly Pulitzer and think it could be dressed up with a white blazer, and maybe a light yellow shell with some fun yellow, white or navy heeled sandals or peep toes, or the cute Grecian-inspired sandal flats below (on super dooper sale!) by Kate Spade for a more casual look.
So, I went in search of some seersucker bedding. What could be better than sleeping in that fabulously gauzy and breatheable fabric? And, I found a gorgeous duvet (on sale!) at Williams Sonoma Home. The grosgrain ribbon detailing compliments the seersucker perfectly. I am imagining two twin beds at a beach house, or a preppy summer look for a master bedroom with white furniture. How fresh!
Or, these terrific playful sheets from Garnet Hill, in white with the lime green dots. The pillow cases would look great peeking out from behind the seersucker shams, or more casually (and nap-inducing) in front of the seersucker Euro shams (pictured above).
The seersucker bedding would look so inviting with a white, lightweight cotton cable knit throw (below and on sale!) folded or draped at the foot of the bed, and perfect for covering up for a power nap or snuggling up with a chapter of the summer reading on your nightstand.
Seersucker is a great almost-neutral canvas to work with because it pairs nicely with most summery colors, and looks just as terrific with white and khaki. You don’t need to sport white bucks and live in the South to enjoy the pleasures of seersucker! Happy summer!
